Welsh trainer Rebecca Curtis goes fully armed up to Ffos Las with nine runners today and one fully expects her to have winners. The Racing Horse will be there and it could be a good time again to play 'Stop At A Winner' such is the quality of those being taken.

Mister W K

We know the former owner of Mister W K and tried to get him to divulge how much JP McManus paid for his horse. Alan Rhead, pictured with the horse told The Racing Horse: "It was a significant amount but the deal is to remain secret. It did enable the purchase of Boyfromnowhere, who will make a nice chaser, with a little left over as well." Mister W K runs in the first race and we know this horse is well thought of and available at 15/8 (Bet365).

Rebecca Curtis runs nine at Ffos Las

Curtis also runs Boyfromnowhere at 16/1 (Bet365), Peckhamecho at 25/1 (Bet365) and The Romford Pele at 10/1 (William Hill) in the 2.05. Benheir 3.10 at 9/4 (Bet365), The Bear Trap 3.45 at 2/1 (BetVictor), Cheat The Cheater at 8/1 (Bluesquare), Sandanski at 33/1 (Ladbrokes) in the 4.20 and finally Internationalapeal 4.50 at 15/8 (Paddy Power). Ironically not one of these qualifies for our Pacafi Bet...

Tom Scudamore goes to Wetherby and the hint is taken

Surprisingly, Tom Scudamore for David Pipe does not go to Ffos Las but Wetherby instead. The hint must not be missed, he rides Goulanes 3.20 at 9/4 (Bet365) and 160,000gns purchase Baltimore Rock 4.30 at 4/7 (Bluesquare). Prices timed at 11.06. The latter is a qualifier for the Pacafi Bet along with Captain Conan 2.25 Sandown where The Racing Horse has changed its mind and have now backed the Nicky Henderson horse.

If the Captain stays...

Captain Conan secured an easy win at 2m2f in very soft ground over hurdles in France and that augurs well for this step up in distance today. The high-class novice hurdler has been hugely impressive in his two starts over the bigger obstacles, winning at Cheltenham in November before landing the Grade One Henry VIII Novices’ Chase at Sandown in December. Jockey Barry Geraghty told us: "I am looking forward to riding him again and I honestly do not see the trip being a problem. I know he has shown some very good form at two miles, but I actually think two and a half miles will turn out to be his best trip. Also I would have no concerns about the ground. It was soft enough when he won the last day, so we will see what happens."

Jockey Barry Geraghty believes Captain Conan will stay...

If all goes well Captain Conan would head for the Jewson Novices’ Chase at the Festival. Trainer Nicky Henderson said of his charge: "I have got confidence in the horse and I do not think he touched a fence on the way round so far. He is very brave, and while Barry was just trying to get him to 'pop' the occasional one that is not something he does yet. He has got such scope." The Racing Horse believes the extra distance today will not be a problem though we are not claiming value in taking the 1/2, we think it will win however and both trainer and jockey believe in the horse.

Once again two from three of our qualifiers won again yesterday making it four from six over the last two days. Hopefully today the score will be six from eight, with a winner or two for friend of The Racing Horse trainer Rebecca Curtis thrown in. We will be following her horses on a Stop At A Winner basis and hope to make a profit...

Today's Pacafi Bet: Captain Conan 2.25 Sandown at 1/2 (William Hill 12.20).
