Promoter Paul Boyce continues his fabulous work in the South Wales region promoting local and talented boxers from the area. His mission is to give the current crop of prospects the opportunity to develop. Tonight he orchestrates the FAST & FURIOUS FRIDAY at Swansea’s Oceana nightclub with a five-fight show to close a successful 2013 campaign and it promises to be explosive!

Chris Jenkins Blitzkrieg

A hugely successful year for the team!

Top of the bill is the 25 year-old Prizefighter champion Chris ‘Rock n Rolla’ Jenkins (11-0, 5KO) who fights the dangerous London-based journeyman Mark McKray (5-22-1, 4KO). Jenkins returns to his home city of Swansea where he has not fought since March 2013. He is keen to wrap up a hugely successful year. Since the spring he has shown his full array of skills notably winning the £34,000 Prizefighter tournament at York Hall, Bethnal Green, where the exposure live on Sky Sports earned him many plaudits as well as a spot on the undercard of a world title fight. There are plans for Jenkins to return to mainstream screens in the New Year but first he must stay disciplined against McKray. With Cwmgors ABC coach Ronnie Morris and legendary boxing trainer Jimmy Bromfield in the corner that will be less of a problem!

We are not just for the professionals, we treat general sports injury, prevention and rehabilitation of injury, including repetitive strain injury. Age is not a barrier, we welcome retired women and men.

The Racing Horse knows Chris Jenkins and has followed his professional career. He is also training to be a sports therapist with Joanne Bromfield (see above) and we have both been particularly impressed with his honesty and humility. He told his fans this week: “It’s been six or seven fights away and now I’m back home boxing on a local show. I’ve come on leaps and bounds in the last six months and it’s mad to be headlining a show in Swansea. I’ve only been a pro for two years but I’m top of the bill now, life is going a bit quick at the minute.”

Jenkins has burst onto the British boxing scene!

Jenkins was South Wales best kept secret until he burst on to the British boxing scene in July when he became Prizefighter light-welterweight champion. He is very proud of his performance and says it has changed his career! He told us: “Prior to that tournament I was unknown but now everyone is starting to know who I am.” He continued: “Since Prizefighter, it’s all fallen into place lovely. I’m now paid to train by sponsors, I can afford to train twice a day and not worry about the bills. If you’re going to work 9-5 every day and you’re grafting, when you go to the gym you haven’t got the 100%. Now, I get up in the morning, go for my run or cycle and then I can chill out all day with my family, relax and do general day-to-day things.”

Boxer pays a tribute to promoter Paul Boyce!

Jenkins paid a handsome tribute to promoter Paul Boyce, he said: “He is keeping me busy. He is not there to make money himself, he is trying to help the boxers from the region so that we will have financial security. I was scheduled to fight last week on the Carl Froch v George Groves undercard but because I was getting married it meant I had to fight a week later. McKray is the only person we could get because nobody in Britain wants to fight me.”

Darren Morgan has one more crack

Having guided the career of former British heavyweight champion Scott Gammer promoter Paul Boyce now tries to resurrect the career of the heavy handed Darren Morgan (6-5, 4KO). Morgan (37) returned from a five-year break in September and flattened the Aldershot-based Egyptian debutante Adel Badawy in the first round but he has a tougher task tonight facing 79-fight veteran Remigijus Ziausys. His record is (20-55, 10KO).
