On our first visit to Home Farm the atmosphere was lively and contagious, the competition fierce and it proved a great day's racing, we are now looking forward to the second meeting this Sunday. Once again the planned card is varied and has something for everyone, so an afternoon of action-packed harness racing is promised starting at 2pm, preceded by non-betting qualifiers at 1pm. Bookmakers will be in attendance and there will 11 races in which to have a flutter. Entrance fee is £8 per person to include racecard, car park and under 14’s FREE. There will also be a Bar and Caterers to assist the excitement.

Message from Stella Havard  (Hereford & Borders Harness Racing Club):

Welcome back to the second of the 4 meetings planned for the Lawrence family’s wonderful circuit here at Allensmore, and if it as good a day as the first one, hold onto your hats!

The minimal prize money at these meetings in no way detracts from the sport – the competition will be fierce – we hope that EVERYONE enjoys The Allensmore Experience – there are many valued supporters working hard – and for nothing-behind the scenes - to whom we are Eternally Grateful. And thanks to all sponsors and participants!

Please help us in our endeavour to provide affordable and enjoyable racing by going home with something from the produce stall, or buying a raffle ticket – or a Duck for The Duck-Out-Of-Water race on 9th August . Or if you wish to celebrate a family birthday etc with a name on a race for next week (19th July 19th) or 9th August, please ask at the secretary’s trailer – it’s not as expensive as you think!

Hereford & Borders HRC aren’t the only club in the region striving to keep racing under BHRC rules available to all – treat yourself to a day at the seaside for Tan-y-Castell on 2nd August, or plan a trip to Amman Valley for one of their meetings! Fixture lists - and Fact Sheets - available from the secretary.

Today we have provided (thanks to the sponsors) an opportunity for the ‘square-gaited’ trotters to race (savour the difference!) and a mile and a quarter event for pacers – good luck to competitors in these and ALL our races!

As usual, the bar and caterers share our opinion that a Day Out should not ‘break the bank’, so please don’t be afraid to sample their wares. See you next week (19th July) hopefully – and why not visit Pembridge Show on Saturday 25th?

Enjoy your day – it’s what we strive for! Stella Havard (Comfy Chair)
