The Hereford & Borders Harness Racing Club had intended to open their season at Home Farm, Allensmore on Sunday 19th June 2016 but the rain sabotaged the meeting and all the hard preparation work. With a much better weather forecast  this weekend the ‘Sunday Quaternate’ becomes a 'Sunday Trilogy' with further meetings scheduled for the 17th July and the 14th August. The Racing Horse intends to cover all three meetings giving a preview of what to expect and then a review on the following Monday.

Those who come to Allensmore will receive a warm welcome. The fantastic stewardship of the course and meetings manage to create its own unique and special atmosphere. The H&BHRC provide racing that is affordable and enjoyable to everyone, whether competitor or spectator.

Early indications suggest that Home Farm has attracted a stack of runners and some good horses and have framed 8 races around them - these start at 2pm. Before that we have 26 qualifiers and these will probably be split into 4 heats and start at 1pm. A short break will be held after Race 4 for a Young Driver’s Pony Parade. Entries will be taken on the day so please support if you can. The races proper include:

Lights – Camera – ACTION. Let’s hope the weather relents and we can bid you WELCOME to the first (hopefully) of 3 meetings under BHRC rules planned for the Lawrence family’s wonderful circuit here at Allensmore.

If you are new to the sport of harness racing and would like to know more about the technical stuff, please don’t be afraid to ask – we love our horses and what we do. Most harness racing people can chat to Olympic standard!

Industrial strength CONGRATULATIONS to all H&B members who have been making their mark this season, but very particularly to Jo and Kim Alman who won an Aberystwyth heat and Final last weekend with Sun Glasses Ron - fellow member Lee Price and Llwyns Delight were runners up – and this partnership had already grabbed the glory with a recent Cilmery heat and final victory.

We hope to see you on 17th July and 14th August and do not forget the Pembridge Show on Saturday.
