FOLLOWING JOSEPHINE GORDON - for a while anyway...

 0-28 and counting (since 4th July 2017)

The Racing Horse is a big fan of Josephine Gordon but cannot help but notice her statistics since 4th July 2017. She has recorded 28 consecutive losers but significantly rode 7 second-places and one can only imagine how that feels?

She has a ride in every race at Yarmouth tomorrow and her best chance of a winner appears to be Cool Team 4.20 Yarmouth for trainer Hugo Palmer and owner Lit Lung Lee. This horse has also experienced seconditus with three second places from his four starts. This is the first time Josephine has sat on him. The gelding has clear claims in a weak maiden but we are more interested in her other rides at bigger prices and will get involved with her rides until she has a winner...

She is having a good season and already clocked up 58 winners from 453 rides for a decent 13% strike-rate. She has not done so well at Yarmouth to date and her figures look poor with just 2 winners from 39 runners for a low 5% but when she rides for Hugo Palmer she combines to score 23-117 for 20%. On Palmer's 3yos the strike-rate increases slightly with 17-82 for 21%. Worth pointing out that although she has won £127,790 in prize money for Hugo Palmer she has won £154,404 for Saeed bin Suroor this year and that comprises of 7 winners from just 19 runners and a whopping 37% strike-rate and a level stake profit of +3.53pts.

Looking at her winners she rides most on the AW and currently stands at 99 winners on those tracks combined. On Turf she has ridden 63 winners. Probably because of her light weight (7st 11lbs) she does not get the good 2yo rides on Turf and her stats back that up with just 4-96 for just 4%. We want to back her 100th winner on the AW so will give a daily update until that happens, please return...

The Racing Horse does not have a qualifier for our System8 for Wednesday. Our most recent bet for that system was Vittorio and she bolted up on Tuesday night at a fantastic 2/1 giving Willie Mullins a win treble!
