She won on her latest outing in a NH flat race when the 8/13fav over this course and distance on good ground last month, beating My Peggy by 7l. She has also won at Downpatrick this season.We've always liked her - Gordon ElliottAfter her win at Downpatrick trainer Gordon Elliott told us: "The winner is a nice filly and we've always liked her. She came on a good bit from the last day at Tramore and there's a mares' winners' bumper at Perth in about six or seven weeks' time and we'll go for that as the owner is from Scotland." It looks like this race in Perth is part of a programme at least for now. She carries a penalty and has to concede 3lb to the boys because of her sex allowance looks easily good enough and continue her progression. She rates a nice jumping prospect.Trainer formGordon Elliott has his horses in fabulous form and shows 15 winners from 41 runners for a strike-rate of 37% in the last 14 days. Since he started training he has recorded 162-574 for 28% with a slight loss of -10.57 to level-stakes at this course. The trainer's strike rate with horses running in 2m to 2m1f bumpers since the start of the 2013/14 season is 23%. Richard Johnson has a strike-rate of 28% at the course since the start of the 2013/14 season.Of her rivalsGordon Elliott had an odds-on shot beaten in this 12 months ago but our Pacafi and his second string Creadan Belle could give the yard a 1-2 as she ran green on debut at Tramore last month but still hinted at ability. Lucinda Russell also has two runners but Pinspot was beaten a long way here on debut and Mintgold has a modest pedigree. Whenitcomestoit only cost €1,500 so may be best watched today.TimeformCARRIE DES CHAMPS was impressive when landing the odds over this C&D last month, and given the level of form she achieved in the process, is capable of conceding weight all round and completing the hat-trick. Creadan Belle is expected to improve on this second start, while Whenitcomestoit represents a very successful bumper stable.ValueOur Pacafi has the look of a 2/5 shot or even 4/11 and we must have value. |
