The Racing Horse offers our powerful RACECOURSE TEMPLATE for Ludlow on Thursday 3 January 2019. First we look at the performance of the different disciplines in both handicap and non-handicap National Hunt races. A cursory glance at the two sets of figures show a disparity that must be factored into thought processes! Ironically, despite a lower strike-rate in handicaps the favourites show a bigger level-stake profit!
Assuming they have runners or rides we also highlight the trainers and jockeys most likely to be involved given current performances.

Paul Nicholls, Philip Hobbs, Henry Daly and Nicky Henderson have no runners at the course tomorrow but Evan Williams runs 4. Of the jump jockeys Richard Johnson has 4 decent rides and is almost certain to ride a winner. Nico de Boinville has 2 interesting rides and Tom Cannon rides a 100/1 shot. Micheal Nolan and Harry Cobden have no rides at the course. From the information we have supplied/offered who are the main players and what are the conclusions?
EVAN WILLIAMS, RICHARD JOHNSON and NICO DE BOINVILLE
On a quiet day's racing we suggest Evan Williams, Richard Johnson and Nico de Boinville will have some sort of success. Ludlow is Evan Williams favourite/number one racecourse for winners scoring 112-723 for 15%. Richard Johnson is 168-766 for 22% at the course and Nico de Boinville is riding at 25% generally this season, at Ludlow he is 11-59 for 19% (+0.08). Oh, and Noel Fehily is 40% when riding hurdling favourites One of the three named will feature and be part of at least one winner...
Just a quick word on Rossa Ryan who rides just one tomorrow at Chelmsford with Lacan 5.20 at 9/1 (Bet365 and Betbright 18.41) for Brett Johnson but looks to have place chances at best. He has 3 rides at Kempton on Friday and then goes to Wolverhampton later that day to ride just one. He could record his 100th UK winner on Friday.
