Wolverhampton Racecourse Template

Wolverhampton provide an 8-race card on Monday but it is going to be tricky with 7 handicaps, four of them Class 6, giving our Racecourse Template even more credence. Top trainers at the course David Evans and David Loughlane are not going to beat the top trainers with any juveniles anytime soon and this is where this type of trainer ply their trade.

To the naked eye there are lots of trainers running horses whilst out of form and we have given a few figures that must be worth a cursory glance...

Wolverhampton FAVOURITES (5 years)
Non-handicap Handicap
2yo: 123-282 for 44% (-15.86) 41-112 for 37% (+14.57)
3yo: 185-398 for 46% (-37.99) 231-714 for 32% (-59.33)
4yo+: 88-194 for 45% (+1.66) 408-1312 for 31% (-89.79)
Total: 396-874 for 45% (-52.19) 680-2138 for 32% (-134.55)

TOP 5 TRAINERS at Wolverhampton for current year
David Evans: 19 wins from 109 for 17% (+1.75)
Mark Botti: 14 wins from 91 for 15% (+102.83)
Mark Johnston: 13 wins from 82 for 16% (-18.66)
David Loughlane: 13 wins from 86 for 15% (+43.00)
Archie Watson: 12 wins from 75 for 16% (-20.38)

TOP 5 JOCKEYS at Wolverhampton for current year
David Probert: 26 wins from 195 for 13% (+40.65)
Oisin Murphy: 20 wins from 72 for 28% (+0.30)
Jack Mitchell: 18 wins from 62 for 29% (+20.13)
Luke Morris: 17 wins from 181 for 9% (-78.64)
Richard Kingscote: 14 wins from 85 for 16% (-18.56)

Top jockey at the course is the competent David Probert but he has been expensive to follow recently and has current figures of 1-44 for 2% but it might be worth looking at his runners tomorrow. He has five rides including Brother Bentley 3.45, Orange Suit 4.15, Production 4.45, Falls Creek 5.15 and Elzaam's Dream 6.15 and our guess is one of those will win and probably Orange Suit or Falls Creek. Stop at a winner to small stakes?

Top trainer at the course David Evans runs two at Wolverhampton tomorrow with Snow Ocean 4.15 and Herm 5.15 and worth a quick look.

Race 5
This race is of interest to us, we know in the past five years 185 favourites from 398 races have won for a 46% strike rate but who will be favourite? Only three of the trainers can be considered in form and they are Ivan Furtado, Ed Walker and Tim Easterby.
Andies Armies 0-13 and exposed as poor and not considered
James Evans 0-15 (193 days) KENTUCKY KINGDOM
Christopher Mason 0-30 (79 days) DICEY'S AGE
Jamie Osbourne 0-34 (35 days) DUKE DEBONAIR
Brian Rothwell 0-33 (480 days) FRESHFIELD FERRIS
TIMEFORM COMMENTS: Maidens don't come much weaker than this so no surprise if SHERPA TRAIL was up to making a winning start. Ghost Buy is feared most ahead of Kentucky Kingdom, who sets the standard but looks on the downgrade already.
