The Racing Horse offers our Racecourse Template for Chepstow for Friday 31 January 2020. We reveal those most important/pertinent figures that provide a betting landscape of the course.

On Friday the gates open at 11.20 and there are seven races from 1.20pm with the last race scheduled for 4.30. Parking is FREE of charge and there is a race day bus service from Chepstow and Newport Railway Stations; CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

There are seven races on Friday, one handicap hurdle, three handicap chases, two novice hurdles and a national hunt flat race. It is important to understand the different disciplines as they produce such different figures. We look at the performance of both handicap and non-handicap National Hunt races at the course and note non-handicap hurdle favourites produce a 47% winning strike rate. Favourites in non-handicap chases produce the worst results. The going is expected to be soft and heavy in places.

The Racing Horse takes this opportunity to welcome members of Owners Group to this beautiful racecourse. Our horse Blackjack Kentucky is expected to race in the Chepstow Trade Centre Novices' Hurdle (Class 4) (5yo+) 2m7f131y and naturally we are excited. Our 7yo has only raced five times under rules and now makes his fifth visit to the course, time to get off the mark. On a personal note my horses show 3-5 for 60% with Nicky Henderson but 0-17 for 0% with Paul Nicholls, 18th time lucky?

We will post an important update/preview of the meeting on Thursday. Any questions about the racing please contact
