(2m7f213y) (New) Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1) (Registered As The Spa Novices’ Hurdle)

The Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle race is open to novices aged 4yo and above run over a grueling 3m (as is the World Hurdle). This race can be a brutal examination of a novice’s stamina, especially if the ground is soft. The task is to find a thorough stayer to last up the Cheltenham hill when rivals are running on empty and our trends will surely help. It is a fairly new addition to the festival and has only been part of the calendar since 2005, but was upgraded to Grade 1 status in 2008. Experience counts which is no better illustrated by the fact that although this is a race restricted to novices, six of the 14 winners had run over hurdles the previous season.
