The Racing Horse looks at the key trends for this year's Coronation Cup. The race is a Group One raced over a trip of 1m4f. The Investec Coronation Cup, usually staged at Epsom, has been relocated to Newmarket and headlines an action-packed card on Friday 5 June 2020. The supporting races for the Group 1 include Derby and Oaks trials as well as Pattern level contests like the Brigadier Gerard Stakes and the Abernant Stakes.

Trainer Aidan O’Brien has been cleared to have his first runners of the season in Britain after it was announced that overseas runners will be allowed to run in the Coronation Cup, 2,000 Guineas and 1,000 Guineas. The rules allow trainers in Ireland and France to compete in these first three Group One races of the British season run at Newmarket on 5, 6 and 7th respectively and precede the resumption of Irish racing which was confirmed on Friday as 8 June.
