Danger: Tezzaray Alt: Azure Blue

This looks like Cieren Fallon's first ride at Carlisle but one imagines he has been well schooled for it. Today he rides a lovely Frankel filly out of a Lowther Stakes winner who won over 5f & 6f and raced up to a mile.

 Bred in the purple

Perfect News looks a promising filly and made a pleasing start to her career. She was a good second of 8 at Yarmouth over 6f on good to firm ground when 5/1. Race watchers noted she stayed on nicely in the final furlong under tender handling and a hands and heels ride from Liam Jones who does a fine job schooling the Haggas horses. The daughter of Frankel hails from a family that connections know well and with natural improvement she can go one better in this field.

Held in some regard, Group entries in September

Interesting the dam Beshara raced over 7f and a mile, but never won over those distances, her 4 wins were over 5f and 6f. Frankel of course, won up to 1m2½f and the reason we mention this is because there are a couple of fancy entries in September proving she is held in some regard. One of those is in a Group 2 over 7f and the other 6f Group 1. On her debut run she hit the 6f line hard with an easy ride so this filly will easily get the 7f next time up.

Trainer form

William Haggas is in fine form again! He has a big national average of 24%. From his last 8 runners 5 have won for 63% whilst his all time figures at Carlisle show a big 26% strike rate. Cieren Fallon rides and he is full of confidence at the moment and now looking very good indeed! His current figures show 11-30 for 37% and remarkably these 11 winners have come from 10 different trainers. This is the best form of his career so far!

Contenders

Tezzaray is another who has claims and can take a step forward from her Newmarket debut. She is a Bated Breath filly and a half-sister to 3 winners, drops back in trip. Azure Blue is another likely improver so warrants respect after making late headway at Redcar.

Timeform

PERFECT NEWS made a promising start to her career when runner-up at Yarmouth 2 weeks ago, staying on under a hands-and-heels ride, and this daughter of connections' Lowther Stakes winner Besharah is taken to go one place better. Tezzaray and Azure Blue both showed ability on debut and should improve, while Rainbow Colours makes most appeal of the newcomers.

Value

We missed the 13/8 available with Bet365 but 6/4 looks a decent price.
