FAVOURITES: Winning favourites at Chepstow show 181-462 for 39.18% and a profit to level stakes of +5.88. There are not many racecourses where a level stake profit can be made backing unnamed favourites blind over 5 years. Best category are winning non-handicap favourites over hurdles, they score 68-128 for 53% (+11.36). Winning favourites in handicaps show 89-264 for 34% (+14.95) so a profit without filtration and a strike rate above the national average.
TRAINERS: In form Venetia Williams makes the short trip to Chepstow tomorrow (27m) and brings 2 horses, but Evan Williams (39m) runs 3, there is likely to be a winner from this pairing. Fresh from his Cheltenham wipe-out the top trainer at the track is Paul Nicholls and he has just the one runner tomorrow in KNOWLSLEY ROAD 5.15. Nicky Henderson also has just the one runner in EMIR SACREE 3.15 (to be ridden by James Bowen - only ride) so both of these runners are worth a look!
JOCKEYS: Adam Wedge and Gavin Sheehan both have 2 rides and a winner beckons.
OWNERS: None of the top owners have a runner at the meeting tomorrow.

CHEPSTOW RACECOURSE - MICK FITZGERALDRecord times for Chepstow are very quick, which shows how slick it can be when the ground is fast, but horses can finish strung out like washing when it gets soft. Punters really must take note of conditions then, if they’re having a bet, because horses with stamina limitations can get home when the going is right for them, while it can be a real slog when it’s heavy. The other things to consider seriously are the undulations and the downhill run from the last. If you walk round the course, for example, you’ll be aware that, from several places out in the country, you can’t see the stands. The run-in, on the other hand, is quite steeply downhill, very quick on fast ground, and that’s why you often see horses make a mistake at the final jump. |
