(%): NATIONAL AVERAGE SAW: Since a winner E: Entries R: Rides

FAVOURITES: At Kempton we must acknowledge then absorb the huge sample size which includes a 11% differential between winning non-handicap favourites and handicap favourites. Over the past 5 years winning favourites show 653-1893 for 34.50% and a big level stake loss of -230.80 to SP. Best strike rates are in 3yo favourites in non-handicaps scoring at 46%, whilst the worst is 3yo winning favourites in handicaps.

TRAINERS: Hot trainer Kevin De Foy (16%) has 4 top of the market runners (3 races) and likely to get on the scoresheet given his numbers. Another hot trainer are J & T Gosden, they are currently 4-6 for 67% with just one runner at Kempton, but their MR INSPIRATION 2.10 NEWCASTLE looks their 5-8

COLD TRAINERS: George Margarson (10%) is currently 31 runners without a winner, whilst Paul & Oliver Cole (13%) are 27, both have a single entry. The Cole team have an interesting entry in GOLDKIT 6.00, but hard to back the jockey (0-24 at Kempton) competing against Rossa Ryan & Oisin Murphy. Interesting race...

JOCKEYS: David Probert (11%) looks to have a banker ride in the first, but Danny Muscutt's (13%) catches the eye with 4 top of the market rides and a win double beckons! Stop at a winner?

OWNERS: None of the top owners at the track have a runner for Wednesday.

BY THE WAY: International jockey James Doyle (19%) is in great demand and needs periodic downtime, but he goes to Kempton for just one ride late at night for Harry & Roger Charlton (17%). Surprisingly, the combination shows 0-8 on the AW surfaces and just 1-10 on Turf. There's a story here but we are not privy to it!

The way the track is prepared at Kempton can play a massive part in whether it suits front-runners or horses coming from behind. Most of the time, the going is officially rated ‘standard’ but I know, from having ridden in America, that all artificial surfaces are dependent on weather conditions. An inside draw is a big advantage on the round course, as you don’t want to be running wide, and there’s a tendency for jockeys to get going a long from home. My preference would be to use patient tactics - Jason Weaver
