FAVOURITES: At Kempton it is essential to acknowledge then absorb the huge sample size which includes a 11% differential between winning non-handicap favourites and handicap favourites (42% v 31%). Over the past 5 years winning favourites show 682-1955 for 34.88% and a big level stake loss of -224.79 to SP. Best strike rates are 3yo favourites in non-handicaps scoring at 48%, whilst the worst is 3yo winning favourites in handicaps scoring at 29%.

TRAINERS: Our premier league trainers are at the track tomorrow and this will inevitably squeeze out our championship trainers. The 6 top trainers at Kempton have 11 runners between them and we can expect multiple winners!

JOCKEYS: Strange that Hollie Doyle (15%) has just one ride in ONIGHT 6.30 for Archie Watson and we can expect this one to go close. Husband Tom 'Sydney' Marquand (15%) is back and he has 5 rides, he might need a day or two to get back into the swing of Kempton, we could easily be wrong!

OWNERS: Of our top owners at the track only Godolphin (25%) have a runner in TAGABAWA 6.30.

RED FLAG: Oisin Murphy (20%) has a full book of 7 rides at the course on Monday. They include: WALLOP 5.30, GYPSY NATION 6.00, ALSAKIB 6.30, SWEET MIST 7.00, MAASAI MARA 7.30, HORNBLOWER 8.00 & LIMELIGHT 8.30. He has been in stunning form since returning in February and is almost certain to ride winners at the meeting! We look at his numbers and compare them against his national average since his return, whilst accepting he is prepared to ride those with slim to little chance.

April: 12-50 24% +2.19
March: 19-83 23% -5.79
February: 6-25 24% +9.81
Total: 37-158 23% +6.21

The way the track is prepared at Kempton can play a massive part in whether it suits front-runners or horses coming from behind. Most of the time, the going is officially rated ‘standard’ but I know, from having ridden in America, that all artificial surfaces are dependent on weather conditions. An inside draw is a big advantage on the round course, as you don’t want to be running wide, and there’s a tendency for jockeys to get going a long from home. My preference would be to use patient tactics - Jason Weaver
