FIXTURES
Saturday 13 September 2025
Tuesday 23 September 2025

CONFIGURATION: Lingfield’s left-handed all-weather track is laid out inside the turf track and, measuring just less than a mile and a quarter round, is essentially sharp in nature. This, along with how the races often pan out ensures that stamina is rarely at a premium and strong-travelling types with a turn of foot are often favoured. See: LINGFIELD AW DRAW BIAS

FAVOURITES: Winning favourites at Lingfield AW over the past 5 years show 669-1877 for 35.64% and a loss of -216.51. The overall strike rate is +3% above the national average. Winning favourites in non-handicaps score 245-496 for a massive 49% and a level stake profit of +£15.37 to a £1 stake. There is just one Maiden Race on the card for Saturday.

TRAINERS: Archie Watson (13%) has 3 runners including TYPHOON DANCER 1.25, VENTURA DREAM 3.13 & SUMMERTIME BLUES 3.55, each to be ridden by Hollie Doyle. The combination are likely to score and build on their 288 winners at 19%.

Andrew Balding (16%) is top trainer at the track scoring +5% above his national average and he has one runner in KINTBURY 1.25 to be ridden by Callum Hutchinson. The 3yo does not shout winner but he is a potential improver in handicaps running after a break of 169 days. The market will tell us more.

JOCKEYS: There will be extra interest at the course today in that we have 2 of the best female UK jockeys competing against each other. Hollie Doyle (14%) looks certain to ride a winner, she has 6 rides including TYPHOON DANCER 1.25, ROGUE DYNASTY 2.33, VENTURA DREAM 3.13, SUMMERTIME BLUES 3.55, FRANCESI 4.30 & FIDELIUS 5.00. Stop at a winner?

Saffie Osborne (12%) has 5 rides including ROMEO MONTAGUE 1.58, PRINCESS MIA 2.33, ELVETHAM 3.13, QUESTA NOTTE 3.55 & FORAGER 5.00

OWNERS: Godolphin (26%) are easily the top owner at this course and they score 34% here so a big +8% above their national average. They have a runner with featured Charlie Appleby.

GREEN FLAG: Charlie Appleby has a national average of 30% but at Lingfield over the past 5 years he has scored 22-52 for 42% and a level stake profit of £11.76 to a £1 stake. Ironically, this is only the second horse he has sent to this course this year. The late April 2yo Pinatubo colt has obviously been held up, having his first start at this time of the year. This Class 5 Maiden does not look the strongest, so we can expect the Appleby runner to go close. Interesting, that the dam Chapelli won her first two starts as a 2yo, and one of those in a Class 3 Novice at York which augurs well. He will be well ridden by Dougie Costello who is now 22-87 for 25% (+15.36) when he combines with the trainer. Stall 8 could have been kinder but his two main market rivals are drawn further outside again.

TRH is only looking at the front two in this market (Romeo Montague), and wary of fluctuations in the betting, right up to post time. We will stake and save in some form...

TIMEFORM: Pinatubo colt. Half-brother to 6f winner Dream Whisper. Dam, 2-y-o 5f winner, closely related to very smart winner up to 1½m Old Persian. One to take seriously on debut for top connections, especially if market vibes are strong.
