What do we know ahead of the 2026 Cheltenham Festival?

The 2026 Cheltenham Festival takes place from Tuesday 10 March to Friday 13 March, delivering 4 days of elite National Hunt racing at Prestbury Park. Across the meeting, racegoers will enjoy 28 contests, with 7 races scheduled each day, including a balanced mix of hurdle races, steeplechases, the traditional Champion Bumper, and the cross‑country chase.

Again, we believe the POWER 5 will win AT LEAST 18 of the 27 bona-fide races for 67%, and the Irish will probably win 19 or 20 of those races also for 70.37% or 74.07%. Our whole strategy revolves around this actuality! Whilst nothing is ever due or preordained in racing, we fervently believe that the die has been cast for this Festival, and probably for the next few!

Our approach for the 2026 Festival is built around these realities. We intend to bet in every race using ½‑ to 3‑point stakes, win or each‑way, depending on race profile and market shape. In many contests, we will support more than one runner—sometimes in a win‑and‑save structure, other times through proportioned or scaled staking. Make no mistake, betting in every race is dumb, TRH will only do so, to prove our strength of reasoning. For readers, the sensible approach is always to be selective—focus on the races where you believe there is a genuine edge and where the prices offer meaningful perceived value.

By the way, our detail has not been remotely influenced by any media outlet and the clutter noise that accompanies it. Our focus remains on objective indicators, statistical patterns, and the practical realities that shape Festival outcomes. Hyperbole, brouhaha, hunch and bias from favoured sons are surplus to our requirement.

So we invite readers to follow this journey with us. Our aim is to inform, clarify, and contextualise the week’s racing, offering a steady reference point amid the excitement and intensity of Cheltenham. Throughout the Festival, we will continue to provide analysis rooted in relevance, accuracy, and perspective—never unnecessary opinion.
