Group 2 back to a Class 5

Watch My Tracer is a late-April foal, related to a couple of sprint winners and who is already gelded costing 75,000gns. He looks a promising sort and was a winner at Yarmouth in May when picking up nicely to make a winning debut, despite being relatively ignored in the betting and going off at 14/1. The win booked him a trip to Royal Ascot for the 20-runner Coventry Stakes where he ran a sound race at 50/1 finishing 7th and only beaten 4½l and there looks to be room for further improvement. He now drops from a Group 2 to Class 5.

Trainer and Jockey Form

Newmarket trainer George Scott is not a prolific trainer and has a national average of 12%. At Windsor he scores a mediocre 3-37 for just 8% (-25.75) but he performs well his 2yos showing 31-269 for 12% over the past 5 years, in fact he strikes higher with his 2yos than he does with his 4yo+ scoring at 11%. We note this current year he shows 4-25 for 16% (+18.00) with his 2yos and he now combines with Benoit De La Sayette. This jockey booking is a huge positive!

The trainer and jockey combination shows 10-44 for 23% (-3.22) and this represents the jockey's third best partnership in his career so far. At the course the jockey scores 10-33 for 30% and a level stake profit of +34.42. The trainer runs 2 at Windsor tomorrow and he could record a win double, whilst Benoit De La Sayette has 2 rides, the other for Roger Teal on an interesting 25/1 outsider that might outrun his odds! 

Contenders

Jubilee Walk is entitled to build on his debut fifth at Salisbury in late-June and may prove more competitive here though his trainer's 1-16 for 6% this year with 2yos tempers enthusiasm. Newcomer Havanagreattime (foaled 18 February) is a €31,000 foal, €105,000 yearling, Havana Grey colt. He his a half-brother to 11f/1½m winner Mukhaater and very smart 1¼m-2m winner Baron Samedi. His dam ran twice so looks an interesting newcomer with a place chancd, but we cannot see Richard Hughes in possession of a 2yo running a huge RPR on debut given the trainer is 1-25 with his 2yos this year!

Timeform Comments

WATCH MY TRACER was impressive when making a winning start at Yarmouth in May and acquitted himself well in the Coventry, so he's fancied to get back to winning ways. Havanagreattime and Trois Blancs are both interesting newcomers.

Value 

The 8/15 looks north of perceived value and the Pacafi must start shorter than that unless there is a newcomer who can beat an OR of 97 and we cannot spot one!
