Receiving information and any consequential evaluation is problematic, because betting mindsets have already been programmed with tainted dogma which is hard to break down. Nobody is totally neutral or totally receptive, all human beings retain bias, they might not admit to it, but life's journey impact on all of us in some way, shape or form. The task for the bettor is to set aside the erroneous for the sake of a clean bet, we hope to explain this/our position in our eBOOK,

CONFIGURATION: Left handed, galloping. The straight mile course is undulating throughout. One of the fairest courses in the country, though its galloping nature makes it ideal for the big, long-striding type, and the track becomes testing in inclement weather. Whilst the majority of the action on the straight course usually takes place on the stand rail, those who choose to come down the centre of the track instead can find themselves at an advantage.

FAVOURITES: Newbury Flat Racecourse provides as many non-handicap races to handicap races and this is very unusual. Over the past 5 years winning favourites at the course show 198-622 for 31.83% for a level stake loss of -107.46 so a strike rate below the national average. This is clearly not a great course for favourites! This negative is in contradiction to the quality of the race track and quality of races generally held there, but these are the organic facts and cold mathematics!

Winning favourites in non-handicaps show 112-311 for 36% and a level stake loss to SP of -52.14, whilst winning favourites in handicaps score 86-311 for 28% and a loss to level stakes of -55.26.

TRAINERS: Richard Hannon (11%) had 10 runners at the course and landed 3 winners, Saturday he has 9 runners and he could score again. His runners include SON 2.40, TALIS EVOLVERE & SIERRA BLANCE 3.15, SHEILA'S PARADISE, SEDGEMOOR & WAISTCOAT 3.50, EASY DANCER 4.25 & GRAHAM 5.00

JOCKEYS: Tom Marquand (15%) and William Buick (23%) both have a full book of 7 rides and their collective 14 rides must produce winners! Tom Marquand's rides include HAMISH 1.30, RELIEF RALLY 2.05, EL BODON 2.40, GODWINSON 3.15, ECONOMICS 3.50, MYCOLOURSORYOURS 4.25 & GALILEO'S COMPASS 5.00

William Buick's rides include CHESSPIECE 1.30, STAR MUSIC 2.05, MISTER SKETCH 2.40, RAADOBARG 3.15, AMPHIUS 3.50, HIDDEN LAW 4.25 & PRINCE MAXI 5.00

Oisin Murphy (19%) and James Doyle (19%) both have 4 rides whilst Jim Crowley (19%) has 3.

OWNERS: TRH suggested a long look at the runners of the top owners at Newbury on Friday and they found 3 winners, there could be more for Saturday and these runners must be processed.

Godolphin (25%) have 2 runners including CHESSPIECE 1.30 & HIDDEN LAW 4.25, the latter trained by Charlie Appleby.

Shadwell Estate (24%) have a single entry in MUJTABA 1.30, whilst Amo Racing (17%) have a single entry also in RAADOBARG 3.15.

Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum (24%) has 2 runners including ELMALKA 2.05 & TERWADA 3.15.

Juddmonte (23%) have 3 runners including ARREST 1.30, AMPHIUS & CLOVE HITCH 3.50.

RED FLAG: Richard Kingscote has a national average of just 13%, this Derby winner (2022) is much better than that. His two main source of winners have been Michael Stoute and Tom Dascombe. Stoute is nearer retirement than a Group 1 winner and Dascombe lost his big job and struggled to make an impact since, Kingscote needs his agent to get him rides from other stables! Yesterday we flagged up Luke Morris who was 0-63 and he came off the cold list with a 25/1 winner, paid £34 on the Tote and one of our members Sara was on at 40/1.

Richard Kingscote has miserable UK figures of 2-55 for 3.64% (-49.95) for 2024, these must be desperate times for him. However, he is almost certain to bounce back to form sooner rather than later. Filter and follow is the clear advice! He has 3 rides today including JAMES'S DELIGHT 2.40, NAVAGIO 3.15, PASHA 3.50 & MARHABA MILLION 4.25.

BY THE WAY: Sincere apologies but there will not be a rationale for out 2 Pacafis tomorrow. Just to recap we have staked ARREST 1.30 Newbury at 13/8 but because of the drift (suggesting he may need the run) we have staked AL QAREEM at 6/1 (0.20pt win advised) in the belief he will reverse his form with HAMISH on today's better ground. Maureen Haggas told us candidly her horse does not like Newbury and needs testing ground so we are taking that one on!

GRAIN D'OUDARIES 2.15 Bangor at 6/4 has ticked all our boxes and the price looks attractive, looks an even money shot to us!

There aren’t many fairer courses than Newbury, which is big and galloping, but, probably due to the woodland on the far side, it can sometimes ride a good bit softer down the back straight than it does in the home straight. There’s very little draw bias on the straight track and there’s no wonder so many trainers want to send their classy horses there. The one tricky start is the one up in the spur (the round 1m) and that can prove draw-dependent. Otherwise, you get very few hard-luck stories at Newbury - Jason Weaver
