The colt has been off 148 days and this course and surface looks the perfect place to make a return.

Colonel Faulkner is a live danger to the Pacafi. He made a promising start when runner-up at Doncaster behind a winner trained by Roger Varian. Nagasaki Dream ran well over track and trip on his debut but Secret Haunt never figured at Newmarket last month. The newcomer Alba De Tormes is preferred of Karl Burke’s three runners while Captain Cooper is related to a host of winners and is another to note

 Wootton Bassett colts LEGION OF HONOUR and Colonel Faulkner both looked potentially useful when runner-up on their respective debuts at Haydock and Doncaster and look the pair to focus on, the former shading the vote.

The Racing Horse has enlisted a saver for this race in Colonel Faulkner though Roger Varian ought to know what he has to beat. We wanted 5/4 or 11/8 about the Pacafi but happy to take the 6/5.
