Wodhooh has an OR of 130 so 13lbs clear of the current second favourite yet receiving another 3lbs on weight carried. We said something similar to First Street (our last Pacafi) but that one did not turn up under a very passive and ordinary ride from Nico de Boinville. At the beginning of the month on a stable tour trainer Gordon Elliott said of Wodhooh: "Lovely three-year-old filly who is two from two over hurdles. Took a nice step forward from Listowel to win by a long way at Punchestown. Hopefully she can keep progressing when she steps into Graded races." When she steps into Graded races is the part we noted!
We know trainer Gordon Elliott likes this filly and has targeted this race for a while now. After she won her second race at Punchestown on 10 October he told us: "We knew Wodhooh had come on from the run in Listowel but I think on softer ground there is another half-stone in her. She's a very honest filly. Jack said it was like she only jumped in at the third-last. She was flat out for the first half of the race and then the further she went the better she was. We'd like to get a bit of black type over hurdles with her now. There is a race in Newbury the first week in December that she could go for."
Before this race came along he won with her at Down Royal on soft ground and said: "Wodhooh is tough. She would have been suited by a quicker gallop early on. She probably learned more than she did last day. She might go to Newbury now for a Listed hurdle next month."
Gordon Elliott's WODHOOH hasn't looked back since sent hurdling and possesses much the best form on offer too so rates a confident choice to go 4-4 in this sphere. Max of Stars is another who has taken really well to this discipline and she rates the chief threat ahead of Musselburgh runner-up Ragosina and newcomers Ezmerellda and Rue de La Mer.
The 4/6 looks a fair price given her form and lovely attitude to racing. We priced her up at 4/7. She was fair on the Flat and now taken extremely well to hurdling, making it 3-3 in 7-runner juvenile at Down Royal 20 days ago. Rates the clear form pick so she should be able to maintain her unbeaten record.
