Queens Rock boasts a smart NH pedigree, being a half-sister to Clondaw Castle and she was a runner-up on her only start in Irish points and then showed plenty of ability when filling same spot in a Ffos Las bumper on Rules debut in April, travelling particularly well and looked all over the winner. She was having her first run for Henderson for 162 days, but she was expected to win with a bit to spare and went off the 10/11 favourite. We are not too worried she now races after another break of 219 days given the moderate quality of this race. She appeals as the sort to win races over hurdles for her top yard.
Trainer Nicky Henderson has his horses in decent form with November showing 9-35 for 26% (-4.36). At Southwell he scores heavily recording 19-59 for a big 32% (-3.95). The combination between trainer and jockey score 294-1193 for 25% whilst the jockey scores 18-67 for 27%. Henderson has two runners at the course tomorrow, but the Pacafi is his best chance of a winner.
There are no guides to help us decide who are the main dangers. We know Kenahope was a fairly useful winner on the Flat in France, and stays 1¼m, but well held on handicap debut 426 days ago on sole outing for David Menuisier. We are always mindful of the Skelton's in opposition, and they run Fancy Stuff. She was a fair bumper winner who offered little starting out over hurdles (tongue tied) in a deep race at Ascot (15.7f) 24 days ago, left behind after 3 out. She may do better now her sights are lowered.
QUEENS ROCK impressed with the way she travelled when runner-up in a Ffos Las bumper on her Rules debut back in April and appeals as the sort to win races over hurdles for her top yard. Hidden Beauty is a bumper winner and has shaped well both starts over hurdles, including on Sunday, and retains potential, while Kenahope is another to consider having shown a fairly useful level of ability on the Flat.
We cannot be certain the 6/5 taken is perceived value but our experience tells us it could be! In situations like this we imagine being asked to give a price as a bookmaker and our answer would be something closer to 10/11.
