7 GOLDEN RULES – when not to wager!

The Racing Horse style of betting is at odds with the vast majority of bettors and we understand why. Our strategy preference is for high strike rate, small losing runs and incremental gains under a long-term planned approach. We readily accept the word incremental is not sexy in betting parlance.

But, we now have a relatively small number of members who are obviously interested in our approach, and we have never received such kind words as we have in the last 12 months or so. These members know we are not interested in false promises, hyperbole, affiliations, advertising or making money from subscriptions! By the way on subscriptions, we asked for £9.95 per month in June 2011 and we only ask £9.95 now (33p per day), we are not the slightest bit interested in that side of things, we only ask members to commit!

Note: We do not use the word gambler - we do not feel we gamble! We looked at the word gambler and it said "if you describe someone as a gambler, you mean they are ready to take risks in order to gain advantages or success!" We do seek to gain advantages and success but we are not ready to take risks per se!

Every bet we have placed in the last 12 years is based on the mathematics and it is mathematics that is the governing force of sports betting. We carefully select our races where we believe we have both an EDGE & PERCEIVED VALUE and for these reasons combined make us part of the 2% who WIN from sports betting, with zero risk to our betting bank.

There are obstacles to profit, and at some point all of our members would have succumbed to at least one on the list below.

To help us guard against impatience and indiscipline and promote professionalism, we have a PRE-WAGER RULE BOOK that tells us when NOT TO WAGER, it includes:

  • RANDOMLY

  • FUN or RECREATION

  • WITHOUT PREPARATION

  • WHEN NOT in a CALM MOMENT

  • DIRECTLY AFTER a LOSING BET

  • WHEN WEARY or TIRED

  • WITH ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION

The above '7 do nots' cannot be listed in priority because we know after 56 years of betting we occasionally break our own rules, much less so in the last 12 years.

Of course, there are many other things to be mindful of, but the above list is etched into our betting thought processes.

Following the above advice is not always easy to do, to err is to human, but that is the task!
