Chepstow Racecourse is a located just north of the town of Chepstow in Monmouthshire, near the southern end of the Wye Valley and close to the border with England. The picturesque Wye Valley provides a striking backdrop to 440 acres of historic parkland. It is the home of Wales' most prestigious race meeting, the Coral Welsh Grand National. With 32 meetings annually, both flat and jump racing, you can be sure there will be a fixture to suit you, your friends and family.

Chepstow is one of three racecourses in Wales, the only course of the three to host Grade 1 jumps racing. That Grade 1 comes courtesy of the Finale Juvenile Hurdle, which can be used as a stepping stone towards the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Also at the December meeting is the Welsh Grand National, the biggest handicap of the year at the track. The highlights of the October Jumps Festival are the Persian War Novices’ Hurdle and the Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle.

The UK National Hunt season starts in earnest at Chepstow Racecourse on Friday 13 October and Saturday 14 October 2023. This fantastic 2-day meeting titled Guts, Glory and Good Times is classed by many NH trainers, jockeys and racegoers as the start of the Winter Season and includes the Unibet Persian War Hurdle.

The Racing Horse will be producing our insightful Chepstow Racecourse Template to racegoers and the general public for both days FREE of CHARGE! The template is particularly informative and provides a fabulous betting landscape detailing all the relevant and pertinent information needed to make the day special!

On Friday gates open at 11.20 and there are seven races scheduled from 1.20pm with the last race at 4.30. Parking is FREE and there is a race day bus service from Chepstow and Newport Railway Stations.
