Willie Mullins & The Racing Horse

The Racing Horse will be very busy this weekend finalising our pieces, plans and nominations for the Cheltenham Festival. Because of this there will not be any Racecourse Templates until next Saturday.

So where are we at the moment?

The BIG 5 are taken to win AT LEAST 18 of the 27 bona-fide races, and the Irish will probably win AT LEAST 18 of those races also. Our whole strategy revolves around this actuality! Whilst nothing is ever due or preordained in racing, we fervently believe that the die has been cast for this Festival and probably for the next few Festivals!

Our intention is to make profit by betting in each and every race using stakes of between ½ to 3 points, win or each-way. To facilitate this we will be heavily relying on our BIG 5 strategy previously outlined. Promising a profit by backing in every race is normally considered foolish or worse, but our record and understanding of this Festival is second to none.

In many races we will back more than one horse in a race, sometimes in a win and save capacity, but other times as shared/scaled stakes.

The cards have been studied in some detail already, but as the races firm-up and the ground and jockey bookings become known, we will revisit each and every one of them. This will be done by using our described mathematical tools, first to filter the contenders from the pretenders, before narrowing them down for dissection and a final analysis.

By the way, our detail has not been remotely influenced by any media outlet, this year we have not or will not listen a single preview show. Hyperbole, brouhaha, hunch and bias from favoured sons are surplus to requirement, cold hard mathematics and the reality that accompanies them certainly are!

The intention is have Tuesday's card ready by Sunday Night, given we need to know the ground conditions etc...

Willie Mullins & The Racing Horse in Melbourne

William Peter Mullins

Finally for today, and some members will already know this, but I was lucky enough to spend a Saturday night in the company of Willie Mullins at the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne in November 2017, what a thrill that was (pictured). He advised me to back Max Dynamite each way at 28/1 citing value (finished third).

I had introduced myself to him regarding my views on the Melbourne Cup which he read carefully, and that I had a current system at the time following his NHF horses which had been written especially for ON COURSE PROFITS. He called me a most perceptive man which is a phrase I was grateful for and will remember for ever. The man is a gentleman, genius and a true great and I was so proud to be in his company! The fact he gave me so much of his time was most inspiring for me - he added value to my life!

So what is the purpose of this story I hear you say? It's not just  to say he is clearly the greatest National Hunt Trainer of all time, most of us know that, it is a reminder there has been 140 races at the Festival over the past 5 years and Mullins has won 34 of those for 24%. In the 92 Non-Handicap races he has won 30 of them for 33%. His team this year is particularly strong so just do the math!
