The Coventry Stakes has been a very good race for punters since it was promoted to Group 2 status 17 years ago. But, Ascot winning favourites in 2yo non-handicaps over the past 5 years show just 18-79 for 23% (-26.70). See RACECOURSE TEMPLATE for more details.

Aidan O’Brien is the most successful trainer in the race’s long history with nine winners but, outside of the Chesham Stakes over 7f, he prefers to get two runs into 2yos that he sends to Royal Ascot. In the last 20 years he has ran 34 for 7 wins and 12 places.

If you want to profit from betting the correct mentality is absolutely essential. Betting can be an unsafe place for some, adverse results can seriously affect the health and well being, not only of the individual, but family and friends who often live with the consequences.

The top 5 trends have a recurrence factor of 69-75 for 92.00% so very strong numbers.

Gisburn was taking on exclusively newcomers at Newbury last month, but it's hard to find fault in a 6½length victory backed up by the clock. His strength at the finish was most impressive and he's fancied to wear down Kaufymaker (drawn 3), who, like many Wesley Ward-trained representatives, comes with a big reputation.

THE RACING HORSE VERDICT:

1: GISBURN 7/1 15th  2: Dhabab 15/2 6th  3: The Organiser 20/1 12th
